Bengaluru: The big challenge ahead for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is dealing with illegal animal trade, slaughtering and solid waste issue that has remained unsolved from the last several years. According to the BBMP officials, over 600 large animals and thousands of small animals will be slaughtered during Bakrid, from August 11 to 13. The BBMP has also formed teams to stop illegal animal trade and its slaughtering and also arranged for additional vehicles in Bengaluru’s east zone as tonnes of animal waste are expected to generate during Bakrid.
