Bengaluru: With Bakrid festival involving sacrificing of animals to be celebrated on August 11, the Bengaluru urban deputy commissioner called a meeting between Muslim community leaders, animal rights activists and others to ensure that the Eid celebration goes off peacefully. The activists claimed that the Muslim members agreed that the awareness level among them about the ban on slaughtering of animals in open places is very minimal and want them to be educated.
