Bengaluru: Heavy rains lashed the city of Bengaluru, along with lightning and loud thunder on Tuesday due to the effect of Cyclone Fani.

Although the rain brought respite from the scorching heat, it wreaked havoc on commuters who were traveling across the city. Traffic jams were reported from Shantinagar, Majestic, Rajajinagar and Vijayanagar.

Cyclone Fani was centred around 500 kms from Chennai on Tuesday evening and is now moving towards Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam and Odisha’s Puri.

Light to moderate showers are expected till the night of 1 May across the interior parts of Karnataka. Some parts may see intense rain for a short period. However, very heavy rains are ruled out at present.

As per the weather forecast, the hot weather will make a comeback within 24 hours.
