Bengaluru: Moula Ali K Alagur, a policeman by profession and writer, singer and lyricist by heart, was rewarded by the Bengaluru Police commissioner T Suneel Kumar who called him personally and gave Rs 5,000 in cash. Also, MN Anucheth, DCP Admin, helped him with cash for making a music video about police.
The song Sarvajanikarige Policera Abhaya has lyrics penned by Moula Ali and the music of blockbuster Kannada movie Victory 2, starring Sharan.
According to Moula Ali, he was inspired by another fellow cop Subramani from Byappanahalli Police station who sang about chain snatching and awareness on preventing such incidents.
In his song, Moula Ali has written about police’s sacrifices of holidays, warning, and advice to hoodlums and hooligans, justification of shootouts on rowdies and robbers who use chili powder and weapons on police to escape and other elements including public-police coordination.
Moula Ali took few hours to pen the song and it was later recorded at one of the studios in Bengaluru. The video was posted on YouTube on April 2 but it was the popular messaging app WhatsApp that made his song reach lakhs of people and also attracted police chief Kumar.
Ravi D Channannavar, DCP west, who also has appeared in the video along with Anucheth, DCP south Annamalai, to encourage Ali's efforts, spoke to Newsable and expressed happiness over the achievement of Moula Ali.
