Lakes, rivers in Karnataka breach owing to torrential rains

Bengaluru: The lakes in Karnataka have overflown, owing to heavy rains in the region causing a flood-like situation. Crops have been damaged and vehicular movement has also been affected. 

Rainwater has replenished dry wells and is now overflowing. A portion of the Chennapura-Byalahalli bridge has collapsed and washed away in flood waters.

According to sources, incidents of house and wall collapse, damaged roads, waterlogging and disruption of electricity supply were also reported in almost all seven taluks of the district.
