Kairalee Nilayam School in HAL which has over 100 students studying in Class 9 and 10, ensured that all students are checked for body temperature and then their hands are sanitised before entering school.
The school management has ensured that all its staff are vaccinated in advance anticipating reopening of school and say they are very much excited to see students back in school.
Similar measures were taken at New Oxford School which sanitises school premises twice a day. The school management also said as some students may forget to bring masks they will also provide masks and let them in after checking their body temperature and hand sanitisation.
The students from most schools had the similar concern of 'network' issues and say they had a problem in concentration during online classes.
Bibi Fathima studying in class 10 at New Oxford School said that she encountered a problem in following up with maths class. "Was finding difficulty in attending online classes." Her biggest concern was following up with maths classes as numbers on the blackboard was blurring. She was stressed, stated her parents.
Similarly, for Krithika Rajesh from Kairalee Nilayam School, the biggest issue was to concentrate in online classes.
"Online classes were not good. Due to network issues, I could not focus on online classes much. There was distraction and I could not concentrate," she said.
Meanwhile, school administrations across the state have been instructed by the education department not to make attendance compulsory but stressed that students get a mandatory letter from parents of their consent in sending them to school amidst pandemic.
As per reports, 16,000 schools and 5,000 PU colleges across Karnataka have opened and about 25 lakh students are expected to attend on alternate days as per guidelines.
The government, however, has not given permission to reopen schools in Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada district as Covid cases are more.
With vaccination for children getting a nod and many of these students coming under this age 12 to 18, may further reduce the stress on parents who were worried about their children's education being impacted. The vaccination is yet to begin for children.
