Karnataka floods: Heavy rains lash Belagavi

Belagavi: Karnataka has been receiving heavy rains since Sunday. The water level in the Markandeya, Malaprabha and Ballari Nala stream kept rising due to heavy rain in Belagavi and surrounding areas, including Khanapur.  Belagavi-Kolhapur Road's traffic was stopped for a few hours by the police after the road near Sutagatti village was submerged underwater.

Meanwhile, an alert has been sounded in Ramdurg,  Saundatti, Belagavi and Khanapur for farmers. Fishermen were asked not to venture near rivers or water bodies.
