Jingoism at Karnataka-TN border, row over Kannada nameboard

Tamil language supporters staged protests before a Sari showroom in Hosuru on the border between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, over the shop's name-board in Kannada. 

 

Amidst the ongoing tensions between Tamils and Kannadigas over issues like language and water dispute, the mob warned shops in Hosuru against displaying names in Kannada. 

 

In a video, dozens can be seen arguing with a shop owner on this issue and warning the owner. 

 

After the video went viral, eight members belonging to the Nam Tamilar Katchi outfit who were seen threatening the shopkeeper, wre taken into custody by the police.
