A complaint of harassment and arbitrary transfers of contract health workers at the behest of a senior health official at a BBMP health centre is doing the rounds.
It is said that many types of equipment usually go missing and contract employees are blamed for the thefts. So far seven workers have been transferred within less than two years.
It is also said that kumkum is sprinkled at the workplace indicating the practice of witchcraft.
Chief health officer Dr Vijendra said he has received a complaint concerning harassment and is also aware of the suspected witchcraft and will investigate the issue.
