Environmental activists are up in arms against the Education Ministry for proposing allotment of 15 acres for a CBSE centre at the bio-park premises at Bengaluru and want the project to be shifted out.
Already 100 acres of bio-park (Sector one) had been created in 2001 and it has 600 species of endangered species trees, most of which have anti-viral properties. There are 148 species of butterfly and 149 species of birds. There are hundreds of peacocks and black-naped hare in this biodiverse landscape.
Vice-chancellor of Bangalore University, Venugopal KR has greenlighted the CBSE project.
