Coronavirus: Man invents software to monitor social distancing, offers it to police free of cost

Amritsar: 32-year-old Amarjot Singh who moved from Amritsar to the US has developed a software to monitor social distancing.  He has also offered the software to police free of cost.

The software will help by calculating the physical distance and pass on the information to police. The software can be fitted in CCTV cameras or drones to view a larger area. A camera-enabled drone equipped with this software can detect the movement of humans with a range of up to 5 km. Similarly, a CCTV camera can be connected to the system.

The young inventor is an expert in computer software technology and has set up his own software firm, Skylark Labs.
