Bengaluru: One of the most heart-breaking aspects of the nationwide lockdown, which began on March 24 to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus has been the plight of millions of migrant labourers and Northeast communities. With no jobs, shelter and money amid the lockdown, many northeast communities are starving and Northeast Solidarity (NeS), an NGO based in Bengaluru, is getting a lot of calls on its helpline numbers. The NGO distributed packets of ration to people of communities from north-eastern states of India.
