RIP Puneeth Rajkumar: Kannada star passes away after suffering a heart attack

Power star Puneeth Rajkumar, son of legendary actor Rajkumar and Parvathamma, passed away today at Bengaluru's Vikram Hospital after he was admitted in the morning following a major heart attack. 

Puneeth Rajkumar, 46-years-old, was called the most bankable star in the south film industry. He suffered a cardiac arrest while he was working out in the gym, the doctors said.

According to Dr Ranganath Nayak, Puneeth was very serious as he suffered massive cardiac arrest. He also mentioned that his 'GOLDEN HOURS' were lost.

Puneeth's fans gathered outside Vikram hospital and at his Sadashiva Nagar house in Bengaluru broke out in tears after hearing the news. 

Fondly known as 'Appu' by his fans, Puneeth Rajkumar was not only one of the most esteemed actors in the Kannada film industry, he was among the highest-paid actors today and a renowned television presenter.

He has acted as a hero in over 29 Kannada films and won National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in Bettada Hoovu in 1985.

His most notable performances include Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985).

Puneeth Rajkumar was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which released early this year.
