Video journalist caught smuggling liquor, chicken at Tirumala temple premises

Tirupati: News cameraman at Lord Venkateshwara Temple premises in Tirumala was caught carrying banned liquor and five kilograms of chicken in his car.

The incident came to light when vigilance department intercepted the car near the Alipiri checkpost and found 12 litres of liquor and five kilos of chicken.

The culprit is identified as Venkatamuni, a cameraman from MAHAA news channel. The culprit taking banned items at the holy place indicates security failure.

The vigilance officers are surprised as the Tirumala temple is shut for the last 50 days, and employees are not allowed to head to the hill top. They have taken Venkatamuni into custody for further investigation.
