As far as Mumbai Indians is concerned, it has significantly focused on its bowling, making it difficult for any side to chase down even the minimal of targets. However, as it prepares to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad, it would be wary of its batting threat, especially the pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, who can be deadly right from the start.
Speaking on the plans against the duo, MI bowling coach Shane Bond asserted that it would be imperative to get rid of them. "Got to get those two guys out. Davey is one of the best batsmen in the IPL, a talisman for their team. We know how important they are," he said during the pre-match press conference on Friday.
Bond also hailed SRH for its disciplined gameplay, recalling how it outplayed MI the last time. "They are very disciplined with the way they go about their work. They flogged us in the last game last season. They played beautifully. We plan the same for every team - how we are going to get them out, how we are going to best utilize the conditions," he added.

Bond gave credit to MI's sound bowling attack, besides crediting leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, who has made a heavy impact for the side of late. "He is doing extremely well. If you look at Rahul, he is still an incredibly young man, who has played a fair bit of cricket and now some high-pressure cricket, and (in) finals and a key member of our team. So, in terms of his development, I still think he is got a long way to go," he asserted.
"We have got some outstanding strike bowlers to bowl in the powerplay, Trent Boult, Booms (Jasprit Bumrah), and whoever compliments them, Krunal Pandya, who is brilliant for us in the last game, probably slightly more defensive bowler," he concluded.
