After being placed under suspension for allegedly demanding Rs 50 lakh to let two persons involved in smuggling liquor in a government vehicle off the hook, ACP Vasu released a video of the accused being caught on April 11 and has now appealed to the Karnataka chief minister and home minister to intervene to save his honour.
The ACP claimed that the accused were caught red-handed while transporting 100 liquor bottles during lockdown in a government vehicle. He alleged that two cartons of liquor were going to additional commissioner S Murugan as well.
Now that he is suspended, he wants the chief minister and home minister to take up the matter as this case involves a senior police officer.
He alleged that he was framed for not letting the person off the hook despite one of them dropping the name of senior officer.
