Mysuru cop performs final rites of man killed by elephant as relatives stay away due to COVID-19 fears

Three days ago, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) attached to Chamarajnagar district in Mysuru performed the last rites of a mentally ill person, who was killed by an elephant. 
 
The relatives and the public residing near his house refused to be part of the final journey of the deceased due to coronavirus fears. HB Madegowda, ASI of Chamarajanagar east police station ensured that he gets a dignified farewell. 
 
The ASI even dug a grave and performed pooja before the burial. The video is now going viral on social media. The cop has earned respect and praise from the Karnataka police officers.
