As people are unable to venture out and feed birds and animals at Karnataka high court and Cubbon Park premises like they usually do, the high court registrar has directed the horticulture department to ensure water is supplied to ponds and that bird pools are filled with water to save birds and animals.

This development ensued after activist T Narasimha  Murthy brought the issue to the notice of Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka. Following the instructions from the Chief Justice, registrar Venkatesh Naik directed the concerned officials to act immediately.

Narasimha Murthy says, from the day of lockdown he has been feeding birds and animals like pigeons, mynas, crows, squirrels and dogs at the high court premises but was saddened by the fact that many birds died due to non availability of water and hence he brought it to notice of Chief Justice.
