Bengaluru: As Muslims across Bengaluru will be celebrating Bakrid, the festival of sacrifice, a clear message has been sent out by religious elders not to slaughter animals openly and indulge in false prestige of animal sacrifice. The rich and those who can afford can either give animal sacrifice or divert the amount kept to purchase the animals towards the treatment of poor patients, they said. This apart, the community members also have been told not to gather in huge numbers at Masjids and Eidgahs to offer prayers. Also, respective Masjid committees have been told to monitor the gatherings which should not exceed 50 members and strictly social distancing should be maintained.
