Tamil Nadu CM's big announcements: Retirement age now 60, Class 9-10-11 students promoted without exams

The retirement age clause is applicable to all government employees, including employees of local bodies and government undertakings, who were to retire on May 31, 2021.


Election season announcements galore in poll-bound Tamil Nadu as Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today rolled out significant decisions in the state assembly.

The first announcement was in regard to increasing the retirement age of state government employees from 59 to 60.

The chief minister's second major announcement was that students of class 9, 10 and 11 have been promoted without examinations.

The chief minister made the announcement in the assembly under Rule 110.
