Kalra, the owner of the Khan Chacha restaurant in New Delhi, is believed to have fled the city along with his family.

Last Thursday, 419 oxygen concentrators imported from China were recovered from a restaurant owned by Kalra and a farmhouse in south Delhi. The police arrested four men during the raids.

A day later, 105 oxygen concentrators were recovered from two upscale restaurants owned by Kalra in south Delhi's Khan Market area.

Kalra, a Page-3 socialite who is often seen in the company of popular celebrities and cricketers, has been absconding since the raids.

The Disaster Management Act prohibits people from hoarding medical products that are in high demand amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Delhi Police, citing the invoices, claimed that the oxygen concentrators had been procured in bulk at prices ranging from Rs 14,000 to Rs 16,000 from Hong Kong and China. The oxygen concentrators were then being sold in India between Rs 50,000-Rs 70,000. Nearly 5,000 such oxygen concentrators were sold in April 2021, and another 1,800 in May at inflated prices.
