Calling upon Congress leaders to remain united, Sibal said that those who have left the party should rejoin that because Congress alone could save the country and that it was the only way that the party can be strengthened.

Sibal termed as an irony the situation that the group of 23 who had called for reforms were not the ones to walk out of the party. Instead, it was those who were considered close to the top leadership who had left.

Stating that he was talking on behalf of the 23 leaders of Congress who had sought reforms with the Congress last year, Sibal said they were still waiting for the actions to be taken by the party high command with regard to holding elections to elect the party president, working committee and central election committee.

While stating that the G-23 leaders will not sacrifice their ideology and leave the party, Sibal, at the same time, maintained that they are not 'Ji Huzoors' either.
