Hexacopter drone carrying 5Kg IED shot down in Jammu

The drone was shot down 8 km inside the International Border.

Police in Jammu and Kashmir have shot down a hexacopter drone in the Akhnoor area of the Jammu district. 

The drone was shot down 8 km inside the International Border.

An improvised explosive device weighing 5 kg was recovered from the downed drone.

Police sources said that the drone might have been transporting the IED to terrorists for being used in a terror attack.

Earlier this week, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said that the probe into the Jammu IAF station attack in June showed the involvement of non-state actors supported by state actors. The state actors included an ordnance factory of Pakistan where the IED was put together.
