Singh, 88, was also sent to the hospital earlier this year after testing positive for COVID-19 on April 19. The ex-PM, on the other hand, had recovered from the illness and was freed on April 29. The former prime minister was taken to AIIMS in May of last year after complaining of chest pain. According to news agency ANI, he was being watched in the hospital's cardiac ward. In 2009, the former Prime Minister underwent successful cardiac bypass surgery at AIIMS. As per reports, Singh had five bypasses performed on him after having a bypass procedure in 1990 and a stenting therapy in 2004.
In 1971, Manmohan Singh joined the Government of India as an economic advisor in the Commerce Ministry. He then served as India's finance minister from 1991 to 1996 before becoming the country's fourteenth Prime Minister in 2004. Currently, he is now a Rajya Sabha member.
