Telangana Metro stations to be beautified with state art

Telangana government intends to beautify Metro stations to attract the public Larsen & Turbo Metrorail Limited adverts will be featured along with cultural art

The long-awaited project of Hyderabad Metrorail is in the last stages of completion and the Government of Telangana intends to beautify the Metro Stations to attract the public.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy disclosed that a special artist is being appointed to beautify the structures and the surrounding areas.

“The four sides of Metro pillars where two sides facing the traffic will be used by L&T Metro Rail for advertisement and remaining two sides will be used for art work,” he said.

The art would comprise of themes like tradition and culture of Telangana and history of their way of life with art made out of cement, mosaic, ceramic, stones, terracotta, scrap and fibre glass would be used. Every fifth pillar would be used for vertical gardens.

There are a total of 2,533 pillars covering 72 kms.
