Telangana Telugu Desam Party working president Revanth Reddy brought another name into the forefront in the sand mafia scam in Karimnagar. Revanth alleged that T News channel Managing Director Santhosh Kumar Joginapally was involved in the sand mafia.
Revanth questioned the TRS as to why they are not taking any action against Santhosh Kumar who is involved in the sand mafia.
He alleged that 10 Dalits died under Santhosh Kumar’s sand lorries. When the Dalits filed complaints against Santhosh Kumar, the police tortured them with false cases, he is reported to have said.
Revanth criticised the attitude of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on his silence on the atrocities against Dalits. KCR’s behaviour is demeaning the opposition leaders and his humiliating comments on communists is a shameful act. Revanth said that KCR doesn’t even respond to any scam in the state.
Revanth announced that he would visit Nerella and look into the issue of police atrocities on Dalits. Police have tortured some SC, ST and BC youths of Nerella village in Rajanna-Sircilla district of Telangana for raising their voices against sand mafia in Sircilla.
Illegal movement of sand-carrying lorries in Nerella and other villages in Sircilla led to several accidents killing many people in recent past. When the villagers protested against the death of a tribal man in a road accident, they were taken into custody and were reportedly kept in illegal detention.
