75-year-old man wants to marry a third time, kills self after unmarried children oppose

A 75-year-old man who wanted to marry a third time, allegedly killed himself after his two wives and six children – three of whom are unmarried, opposed him.
Local reports claim that Abdul Rehman from TD Gutta in the Mehboobnagar district recently fell in love with another woman and wanted to marry her. He announced his decision to the family but faced quite a resistance from them.
Rehman reportedly went into a depression and later committed suicide by drinking pesticide last Thursday. His family’s refusal to give permission for his third marriage is what pushed him to take the extreme step, police said.
He was immediately taken to hospital but he died on early Friday while undergoing treatment. Police registered a case and are investigating.
The family told the police that the 75-year-old was more worried about his own marriage than that of his children and has been picking fights over it in the family.
