Google Translate now on all Android apps, iOS gets offline features

In the latest upgrade to Google Translate, Google has expanded the translate feature to all Android applications. A further, improvised version with an offline mode will be given to iOS users soon. 

The new ‘tap to translate’ feature is already available for the Android users via the Google Play Store’s application upgrades.

The Google Translate’s official blog said, "Of the 500 million+ people who use Google Translate, more than 9 in 10 live outside the US. We've talked with thousands of you in India, Indonesia, Brazil, and Thailand to learn what works and what doesn’t - and today we’re rolling out some big improvements."

Google seeks to eliminate the need to copy and paste selected texts into the Google Translate app, giving users an easier arrangement. With the latest upgrade, all users need to do is, "copy the text of a chat, comment, song lyric, etc. in whichever app you’re using, and a translation will pop up right there," mentioned the blog. 

However, iOS users will eventually be a step ahead, as offline packets of different languages will be made available for them. 

Users can download a packet with their desired language and use it in offline mode.

The upgraded feature includes 11 languages spoken in India: English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujrati, Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi. The language list also includes popular international languages like French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin and many others. Currently, there are 52 offline languages, and more will be added soon.

Google said that the updates will be rolled out in the next few weeks.
