A namesake of director Prabhu Solomon mocked Shruti Haasan over her acting ethics. The Tweet read, "Heroines Per day cost Rs.85,000 + 2.5CR salary + Driver, A/C Caravan & will not act for more than 5 hr/day. Great legend's daughter." This triggered a massive debate on the social media platform.

Now, the director is busy with filming a sequel, Kumki 2. It is said that the movie will have debutantes playing the lead roles. Choosing debutantes as heroes and heroines has become a custom in his recent movies. Meanwhile, a twitter account user, named Prabhu Solomon has posted a controversial post.
