EPS denies government's interference in police department

Synopsis

The chief minister says that without any political interference in six years, the police department is operating independently He also said that the DMK is keen on exaggerating the smallest mistakes of their regime. He says that the crimes against women have been gradually reduced in six years.  

During the debate on the subsidy grants for the Police Department, the Chief  Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said, “Tamil Nadu stands first in recovering the stolen assets. The opposition party is keen on exaggerating even the smallest mistakes of our government. In Tamil Nadu, the cases filed are very less in number. We do not interfere with the decisions of the police department. Crimes against women have been gradually reduced in six years”.

He further said, “The rates of murders and lootings have dropped down when compared to the rates during the DMK regime. We are keen on fulfilling the immediate demands of police. Without any political interference in six years, the police department is operating independently.”
