Chennai to have monorail soon

The Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to implement the Monorail Project at a cost of Rs 6,402 crore in Chennai. Today, the TN government said that the two-way monorail will be operated, covering a distance of 43.48 kilometers. It will be operated in the Poonamallee-Kathipara link, Porur to Vadapalani and Vandalur to Velachery routes. 

Battery Buses:  Transport minister Vijayabhaskar also said that battery-operated buses will soon be functional in Chennai. During the debate on the subsidy demands for Transport department, he said that they are completely against the central government’s New Motor Vehicle Control Act. He also said that the chief minister has been insisting the central government to carry out certain changes in the new proposed Act.
