DMK patriarch Karunanidhi exempted from attending the assembly

Synopsis

DMK leader Karunanidhi has been  exempted from signing once in a month in the Assembly This is in consideration to his failing health Karunanidhi had also not cast his vote in the Presidential elections

DMK chief and Opposition leader MK Stalin moved a resolution in the Tamil Nadu Assembly seeking to exempt DMK leader Karunanidhi from coming to the Assembly. He requested the members to consider his health condition. 

This resolution was passed with the help of the ruling party.

Following this, Karunanidhi was exempted from signing once in a month in the Assembly.

Karunanidhi is the MLA of Tiruvarur. Due to poor health conditions, he is resting at his home. Even DMK followers are not permitted to meet him.

The presidential candidates Meira Kumar and Ram Nath Kovind were the persons to meet him recently. However, for the presidential elections, he did not cast his vote. 

And he didn’t attend the diamond jubilee function of TN Assembly as well.
