Daniel Beale put Australia in the lead in the opening quarter. The following quarter saw Jeremy Hayward and Flynn Ogilviepile more pressure on the Indians, making it 3-0, while Joshua Beltz's fiery strike made it 4-0 at half-time.

India was off to a promising start in the third quarter, as Dilpreet Singh beat the Aussie defence with a vicious strike. However, that goal from India turned out to be its nemesis, as Blake Govers scored consecutively to make it 6-1 for Australia at the end of the quarter.
In the final quarter, Tim Brand skillfully put in the seventh, which eventually turned out to be the winner. India would now take on Spain on Tuesday in its Group A clash.
