Lionel Messi joins Paris Saint-Germain on a 2-year contract

Lionel Messi left Barcelona last week, ending his 21-yer-long career at Camp Nou. Meanwhile, he has signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract, with an option to extend a year.


Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has joined French giant Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday. He also has an option to extend the contract to his third year. “I am impatient to start a new chapter of my career in Paris. The Club and its vision are in perfect harmony with my ambitions. I know how talented the players and staff are here. I am determined to build, alongside them, something great for the Club and for the fans. Messi landed in Paris on Tuesday, as fans greeted him at the airport. The fans also gathered near the Parc des Princes and a luxurious hotel in the city, cheering for the Argentine legend. Earlier, Messi’s father Jorge had stated that the Argentine’s move to PSG was inevitable. Messi parted ways with Barcelona last week after the club failed to register him owing to the economic structural changes introduced by La Liga.
