Speaking after inaugurating Rayanna Brigde convention here recently, he urged the brigade members not to be carried away by criticisms surrounding the Brigade. The association is necessary to fight for the causes of dalits and backward communities, he observed, reports Udayavani.
It may be recalled here that the party leaders had taken objection to Eshwarappa's association with Sangolli Rayanna Brigade. They had warned him not to identify himself with such parallel associations. It had even caused a rift between BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa.
When the matter reached the national leaders, Eshwarappa apparently agreed not to speak about the Brigade till next year, when Assembly elections are scheduled in the state. But he continues to hold conventions and participates in meeting of Brigade earning the wrath of the party.
