
In an addon to the ongoing political high-drama in Tamil Nadu, Sasikala on Friday sacked E Madusudanan as AIADMK's Presidium Chairman, a day after joined acting Chief Minister O Pannnerselvam's camp.
Madhusudhanan was dismissed from his post of AIADMK's Legislative Assembly leader, hours after he reportedly sent a petition to Election Commission stating Sasikala as General Secretary null and void.
The decision to sack Madhusudhanan was taken by the General Secretary of the party VK Sasikala.
Former minister K A Senkottaiyan replaces Madusudanan as Presidium Chairman.
Sengottaiyan, who belongs to the Kongu Vellala Gounder caste, a sub-caste of the larger Gounder group of castes, categorised as Backward Classes in the state since 1975, has a formidable clout not just in his constituency, but in the entire Kongu region.
Sengottaiyan wields quite an influence over the whole Kongu region, which consists of the entire western belt of the state comprising fo around 50 Assembly constituencies.
