Normal again: Bengaluru hospital restores boy with four legs

Synopsis

This is an achievement of doctors of Narayana Health City Parents extended their gratitude to doctor’s team for curing the child for free of cost.

The doctor’s team of Narayana Health City has successfully accomplished the surgery of a child that was born with four legs (in medical term it is called as Polymelia or Dysmelia).

Channabasava and Lalitamma, farmers in Pulandini Village, Raichur District, were shocked when Lalitamma gave birth to this weird child on January 21.

The couple took the child to a private hospital in Ballari. Even the doctors didn’t know how to treat this child; somehow a team of doctors of Narayana Health City came to know about this and came forward to treat the child. The team conducted the surgery continuously for 3 hours and removed the extra limbs and penis that were developed unnaturally.

“We thoroughly checked all the vital organs viz., Kidney, spine and lungs. Even during the surgery we intensely watched the heart beat and blood pressure. We conducted the surgery only after confirming the normal health of the child” – Dr. Sanjay Rao

The doctors say that now the child is recovering gradually. However the doctors infer that the some minor problems may arise as the child grows. They have prescribed timely check up and diagnosis. The doctors have given necessary vaccination also.

Paediatrician Dr. Ashlee D’cruz has said that they’ll consult the team of Ballari Narayana Health Sanjeevini Hospital via telemedicine and instruct them about further treatment for the child.

Channabasava couple have extended their gratitude to the doctor’s team of Narayana Health City for curing the child for free of cost.
