KSRTC employees threaten to go on a strike from July 18

Synopsis

Followed by the 7th pay commission announced by the Central government, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah also announced 8% increase in the salaries of KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) employees in the cabinet meeting held on 29th June 2016.

However, the employees of KSRTC are not satisfied with this hike and since the government has not responded to their demands positively, the employees have called for a bandh starting from July 18.

Anand, Secretary of CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) of KSRTC said that the decision has been made unilaterally since they are not happy with the hike. “Besides, the government is not going to hike the salaries for next four years and that's why we are staging the protest demanding for a 45% hike,” he added.
