4 BJP, 2 CPM men booked for recent political murders in Kannur

Synopsis

The investigative team have arrested four Bharatiya Janata Party workers and two Communist Party of India (Marxist) men in connection with the murder of one BJP and CPM worker in Kannur.

 

On July 11,  CPI (M) worker Danaraj, 36, was hacked to death by an unidentified gang in the courtyard of his house near Payyannur as he was about to enter his house by a gang.  The victim died on the way to a hospital near Kannur. Two hours later, in a retaliatory attack BJP worker C K Ramachandran, 46, was murdered at his home near Payyannur.

 

The assailants hurled a crude bomb, before hacking Ramachandran. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Ramachandran was the local leader of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS).

 

The arrest of the men would be recorded only after detailed interrogation said police sources.
