FIR filed against Sasikala Pushpa for sexual harassment

Synopsis

Tamil Nadu police today filed an FIR against expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa and her family members on charges of sexual harassment.

The Thoothukudi police acting on complaints filed by Pushpa’s maid have charged the expelled MP with sexual harassment, and illegal confinement. Complaints have been filed against Pushpa’s husband Lingeswara Thilagam, son Pradeep Raja and her mother.

Last week on August 5, the Delhi High Court had asked the police to provide security to the expelled MP after she raised the issue of her safety on the floor of Rajya Sabha.

The former AIADMK MP was expelled from the party on August 1 for “anti-party activities”.

Pushpa earlier was on news for hurling abuses and hitting a fellow MP from the state. Pushpa was seen punching and slapping DMK Rajya Sabha MP Trichy Siva at the New Delhi airport on July 30.

In her defence Sasikala said that she was provoked by Siva’s abusive statements about her party and party leader.
