Boy sets himself ablaze because parents ask him to go to school
Synopsis
Like any parent, Lakshmi wanted her child to study well. She insisted that her son go to school regularly.
But her impressionable boy, who studies in the 5th standard, decided to commit suicide instead of going to school. He set himself ablaze.
Whenever his parents asked him to go to school, he would refuse and demand pocket money, just in order to avoid their persistence. One day, they refused him pocket money and asked him to go to school. He went to the kitchen and set fire to himself inside closed doors.
“Every day he was asking for pocket money. I said, today I don’t have money, I’ll give it to you tomorrow. Now go and attend the classes. I don’t know what went on in his mind; he rushed into the kitchen and closed the doors. I shouted and beat the door but he did not open. Within minutes he did this to himself,” says Lakshmi.
The doctors have said there are no serious burn injuries. Currently, he is getting treatment in Yadgir District hospital.
