Women leaders' catfight lands both in hospital

Synopsis

While on inspection of development work of BBMP wards at JP Park, BJP corporator Mamatha got thrashed by her rival, Congress candidate Sunanda, who she defeated in the election.

Mamatha has filed a complaint at Yeshwantpur Police Station about this, alleging that she was attacked by Sunanda at the behest of MLA Munirathna Naidu.

Both the women leaders have accused each other of fiefdom.

Sunanda says that she was verbally abused by Vasudev, corporator Mamatha's husband, when she questioned why the elected representative did not monitor the development work.

Mamatha, on the other hand, said, “I was attacked by Sunanda. And this is a sponsored attack.” She alleged that her neighbouring ward’s Congress corporator GK Venkatesh was also harassing her and not allowing her to work.

MLA Muniratha Naidu, in his clarification, said that he has nothing to do with the fights between the women leaders from his constituency. “I have nine wards in my Assembly segment, out of which three wards have BJP corporators and rest are ruled by Congress,” he said vaguely.

“Only Mamatha has some ego issues. Hence, she is targetting me,” he said and added that he has not asked Sunanda to attack anyone.

Now both the women corporators are admitted to different private hospital due to ‘uneasiness’.
