Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the abduction and sexual assault cases of Malayalam actress, reportedly told police that his only intention was to blackmail the young women and extort money. He took the sole responsibility of the incident and denied any conspiracy theory, the police sources said.
The accused also reportedly revealed that he understood that the plan failed the very moment he came to know that the actress approached police and sought a complaint.
Police sources said that Suni denied reports that he acted at the behest of others. He had planned to dupe ₹50 lakh from the actress to lead a luxurious life with his lover.
The accused told police that he told the actress that he would call her the next day and demand money. Only he and driver Martin was aware of the plan, he told police.
However, police sources said the accused was giving incoherent and contradictory statements on questioning.
The actress had, in her statement to police had said that Suni, who forcefully entered the car told her that he was given a 'quotation' and that he would release her fast if she cooperated. But, the accused failed to give concrete answers on questions about conspiracy and quotation.
He told police that he discarded the mobile, that was used during the incident, in a canal, but the police is yet to recover the cell.
