As NASA's Artemis program continues to take steps to land the first woman and the next man on the Moon, astronauts will soon begin preparing what will go into their actual Moon Kits.

Information about the items that NASA astronauts take with them to space is usually kept very private, but now American space agency NASA has warned up to the idea of revealing it. 

The typical items taken to space include family photos, musical instruments, organizational flags, t-shirts, ball-caps, books, religious texts, and personal mementos.  

As the Artemis program continues to take steps to land the first woman and the next man on the Moon, astronauts will soon begin preparing what will go into their actual Moon Kits. 

NASA last month sought people's views on what they will put in their suitcase for their Artemis trip to the Moon. The common suggestions included good books, teddy bears and coffee.

Through the Artemis lunar exploration program, NASA aims to use innovative new technologies and systems to explore more of the Moon than ever before. NASA is collaborating with commercial and international partners to establish sustainable missions by 2028.

And based on what the US space agency learns on and around the Moonm it will then take the next giant leap -- sending astronauts to Mars.
