Bengaluru man injects acid to 110-year-old Peepal tree to grab land

A man allegedly injected acid into a 110-year-old Peepal tree at Jayanagar in Bengaluru. Residents have accused the owner Prakash of St Clara Apartment in Jayanagar, 9th Block. The tree is situated in front of the apartment and there is an issue regarding the land, which is under litigation. Residents had argued that the tree should not be cut. However, it was found out that the roots of the tree have been grilled at five places and acid has been injected inside. Currently, the tree is being treated and experts are trying to extract the acid from the roots of the tree.
