Vistadome coaches offer scenic views on Mumbai-Pune route

According to Railways officials, passengers can enjoy wide views of rivers, valleys and waterfalls on the Mumbai-Pune route. 

Passengers on the railway route between Mumbai and Pune can now enjoy a ride in the special 'Vistadome' coaches attached to the Deccan Express Special. 

The Deccan Express resumed its Pune to Mumbai service from today.

According to Railways officials, passengers can enjoy wide views of rivers, valleys and waterfalls on the Mumbai-Pune route. 

Each Vistadome coach can accommodate 44 passengers. The coaches are equipped with air-spring suspension so that passengers get a smooth ride. The coach has tall glass windows and an electronically-controlled glass rooftop.

Earlier, the Vistadome coach was introduced in the Mumbai-Madgaon route, attached to the Jan Shatabdi special train. Now, passengers on the Mumbai-Pune route can enjoy the scenic beauty while passing near Ulhas river (near Jambrung), Ulhas Valley, areas of Khandala, and Lonavala, Matheran hill (near Neral), Songir hill (near Palasdhari), and waterfalls, tunnels on the south-east ghat section.
