The Supreme Court terminated the contempt of court proceedings against the Kerala government in the TP Senkumar reinstatement case.
The apex court decided to conclude proceedings after the state government informed the bench that it has complied with the court order and reinstated Senkumar as the state police chief.
Chief secretary Nalini Netto had filed an affidavit in the apex court stating an unconditional apology from the Kerala government.
The SC had earlier sought the response of Kerala chief secretary on a contempt plea filed by Senkumar. The IPS officer had accused the Kerala government of delaying his reinstatement as the state police chief, despite the Supreme court order.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the Kerala government, which had filed an application seeking certain clarifications on the SC judgement in favour of Senkumar's reinstatement.
