Role of Kochi lawyer suspected in murder of real estate broker in Thrissur

The Kerala police probing the murder of a real estate broker in Chalakkudy suspects that a prominent lawyer is involved in the incident. The body of Rajeev, 43, was found inside an abandoned building and the post-mortem examination revealed that he was smothered to death. 

His son had filed a missing complaint, and the police were investigating the same. The officials took three persons into custody, and on questioning, they said that prominent lawyer in Kochi was behind the murder. 

Rajeev had to return some amount to the perpetrator of the crime. The victim had got the amount as the advance amount for a real estate deal. It is suspected that it was the dispute over this money that led to the murder. 

The body was discovered after Raju, a local man, ventured into the building inadvertently. He checked the building as he became suspicious after hearing a voice from the abandoned building. He spotted a man in the inebriated state who shouted on spotting him. The police searched the house and found the body.
