An elderly couple was reportedly clubbed to death and dumped in a well by their son, who is mentally unstable, in Pandalam near Pathanamthitta, it has emerged. 

The police have taken Majo John, 33, into custody on Wednesday for killing his parents KM John, 70, and Leelamma, 62, two weeks ago, according to Manorama News.

Majo admitted to the police that he bludgeoned his parents to death at their residence on June 25, after an argument. He then carried the bodies to a well in the property using their car before dumping the bodies in it.

Majo then hired an earthmover to cover the well. It is understood he told the company which rented the earthmover that he needs to cover the well as there is a dead dog in it.

The police have confirmed the deaths. Efforts are now on to dig the area and find the bodies.
