In a shocking development, it has emerged that a people’s collective is being formed seeking the release of businessman Mohammed Nisham, who is serving jail sentence in the Chandrabose murder case.
A public meeting will reportedly be held at Nisham’s native place in Muttichur near Anthikad on Thursday afternoon, as a first step in this direction. It is understood that the beedi baron’s relatives, friends, employees and certain politicians close to him are behind the move.
According to a pamphlet inviting people to the meeting, Nisham is a good samaritan and Chandrabose's death was an "accident". The notice also says Nisham is a noble, generous and kindhearted person, and that his imprisonment is affecting his business enterprises and making hundreds of employees suffer in the process.
Nisham is currently serving life sentence in Kannur central jail for brutally killing Sobha City security guard Chandrabose, in a fit of rage by ramming him with his Hummer in January 2015.
